As the group attempts to restore power, Russman remember the biological experiments that remain within the area, which then appear and surround them. Undead Richtofen travels through the portal with the zombie horde and chases them down. However, they are being tracked by an undead Ultimus Richtofen during their refuge, with his identity being unknown the the group. Misty and the others are then teleported to an unknown city where they seek refuge. Maxis reveals his corruption from being in the Dark Aether, and banishes Richtofen's soul to a zombie, and begins to destroy the Earth to reach Agartha. Here, Maxis and Richtofen continued to give the survivors instructions to activate the third tower under Maxis's request. The day after, the survivors proceeded to "the rift", and ended up in an underground Western town. They set up camp in the desert, planning what to do next. Again, they activate the pylon under the order of Maxis, which ends with both Richtofen and Maxis ceasing contact for a year, which leads Misty and the rest of the group to wander the Earth. Here, Maxis and Richtofen continued to give the four survivors instructions to activate another tower within Shanghai. However, Richtofen would then rewind the events, so that the group could carry out his tasks. After witnessing Russman being killed by a Jumping Jack, Misty, Marlton and Stuhlinger continued to defend themselves until they were killed as well. However, Stuhlinger starts hearing Richtofen's voice in his head, telling him to activate the tower with his own methods for unknown purposes.Īfter the device was activated under the request of Maxis, the group was teleported by Richtofen to a skyscraper in Shanghai, China.
